Diabetics and their families are invited to attend this program on diabetes self management. The program is held once every other month, the first Thursday of the month and offers a team approach to helping participants make better judgments about their care and to promote independence. Sessions will focus on what diabetes is, medication, diet, and the role exercise plays.

According to the American Cancer Society, colon cancer is the third most common type of cancer in both men and women in the United States. The incidence is slightly higher in men than women, and is highest in African American men. Join Dr. Martinez as he discusses who is at risk, early warning signs, treatment and the benefits of early detection. Take home colorectal screening kits will be distributed.

Stroke Support Group -
Open to all stroke patients and their families and care givers. A speech-language pathologist will conduct a focused language/memory/therapeutic activity for part of each session; however, the primary goal is socialization and an opportunity for patients and families to share experiences and ideas.
