Holyoke Medical Center Awarded Coveted 2014 Leapfrog Top Hospital Distinction
For the first time, The Leapfrog Group has named Holyoke Medical Center to its annual list of Top Hospitals. An elite distinction awarded to hospitals nationwide for demonstrating excellence in hospital safety and quality through the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, the Leapfrog Top Hospital award is given to less than seven percent of all eligible hospitals.  Read more

River Valley Counseling Restructures Office Locations
River Valley Counseling Center's (RVCC) Executive Director, Anne Marie Martineau, has announced a restructuring of office locations in order to better serve the agency's client population. As of April 30, 2014, the outpatient mental health treatment office currently located at 120 Maple Street, Suite 402 in Springfield will be closed.  All clients will be given the opportunity to receive services in any of the other RVCC outpatient clinics.  Read more

The Massachusetts Council of Community Hospitals (MCCH) recently announced Steven Walsh as its new executive director. Walsh currently serves as State Representative for the 11th Essex District and is Chairman of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing. He will begin his new role at MCCH on March 1.
