Expansion marks major investment in community-based care
Holyoke Medical Center (HMC) has again earned an “A” rating from The Leapfrog Group.
FOR MOST OF US, a few extra pounds (or more) is the norm. According to national statistics, approximately two-thirds of the population is overweight, obese or morbidly obese. Quality of life for overweight people is often worsened by associated medical conditions such as diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and/or cholesterol, heart disease, acid reflux, infertility and arthritis.
HMC was again granted a three-year/Full Accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
As our days get longer and the weather nicer here in the Pioneer Valley, more people are eager to be active and outside, whether it’s getting out for a bike ride, taking a walk, going for a hike or just getting down and dirty in the garden. For others it’s a time of wishing they could do what they once could, but are held back by joint pain and what they think is “just a part of getting older.” That’s not always the case and an orthopedic surgeon may be able to help you get back to doing the things you love.
