Needs to explain procedures better

Physician, and nurse very informative and caring, reviewed past ,present history pertaining to my arthritic pain management. I Came for a shoulder steroid injection with ultra sound and will have follow Up Physical Thearpyat HMC core therapy.

It came across that I was wasting his time. He didn't want to hear my med history. Wanted to know "what do you want us to do for you?". Couldn't listen and then go over options for treatment. He let out audible exasperated sighs throughout my 15-20 min new patient visit. It took me longer to go down elevator and get to my car than the whole visit. I will never step foot in the office again.

I have never had to deal with pain management before and realized that after the visit was over I had other questions for the provider. I will have to call and see if there is a way to perhaps send the doctor my questions in an email or text, or perhaps to talk to a PA about the treatment proposed.

I was there for an Intercostal nerve block. When the Dr and I started discussing my symptoms and other issues that I had, he felt that it wasn't worth doing the block because he didn't feel that the Discs in my back were causing the chest pain. My biggest issue is that this was not reviewed before I came in, and I was coming in with the intent of having the block and looking forward to some relief. Because the provider wasn't able to review my chart as thoroughly as possible, I wasted a PFML day, and I'm very disappointed. Olga was certain at my first visit that the nerve block would help. Now I have to try another medication, and "see" if it helps my pain.

I love Olga, and now I love Syed too! He treated me like I mattered. His injections were precise and helpful. He was accommodating to ideas that I had to help relieve my pain which I very much appreciate.

Was told conflicting stories. Woman who took my blood answered my few questions and then said the doctor will talk to you after the procedure. I didn't even realize the doctor came in exam room until he spoke to the two women in the room. I also didn't know when he left. He never spoke to me or told me what he was doing. Not one word. Laying on my left side and he's injecting on my right side I was faced away from him. I was told by one woman I'm all set and ready to leave. I said to the woman who drew my blood aren't I supposed to have a conversation with the doctor. She said oh yeah if you want to talk to him you can. I had to approach him, ask him about my limitations from procedure and asked if I would get pain meds. He then asked me what one works well. I didn't have an answer to this since I haven't had pain meds in a long time. If I didn't speak up, I was told I could just leave, I wouldn't have had any answers to my questions.

I had to get a CD from Baystate for Dr to view an MRI I had back in Dec. This was critical in my care but Dr. Said he couldn't view it. Made no effort after that. The CD was fine. Very disappointed that I don't have a path forward treatment plan due to Dr not having the ability to read it.

I don't feel that I had a good handle on In for presented because it felt scattered in presentation nor did I understand it. I did appreciate that the provider asked me what I thought needed to be done. I didn't not jabs a clear profession of teamster options and left in as much pain as I had come with. There was no examination by provider other than observation which I found strange. I am a NP and at the very least physical exam can lead to info that may direct or guide treatment plan. I was as confused as I was when I went in. I also thought that questions re my spine should have been asked and not simply relied on by questionnaire- as I had very little time to completely focus on this- one due to be long in pain and two because my visit was rushed.
