WELCOMES NEW CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER, DR. VISHAL TIWARI
HOLYOKE, MA – January 6, 2025 — Spiros Hatiras, President and CEO of Holyoke Medical Center and Valley Health Systems, has announced Vishal Tiwari, MD as the new Chief Medical Officer at Holyoke Medical Center.
“I am excited to have joined this team, working with and leading many well respected physicians and colleagues,” said Dr. Tiwari. “I have had working relationships with several members of the HMC medical staff in the past. I look forward to further incorporating best practices to continue delivering the highest quality of care to the patients we serve in the Greater Holyoke community.”
Before joining Holyoke Medical Center, Dr. Tiwari was most recently with Steward Health in the suburbs of Boston. There he oversaw several hospitals as the Vice President of Medical Affairs and Regional Medical Director. In addition, Dr. Tiwari served more than a decade at Baystate Health and Health New England as their Medical Director and Senior Medical Director. He also served as the Market Medical Director at Curana Health, a nationwide post rehab company.
Dr. Tiwari received his medical degree from S. N. Medical College with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in India. He completed a postgraduate residency training at Unity Health System in Rochester, New York. Dr. Tiwari then went on to receive a Masters in Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the Geisel School of Medicine, a joint program at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
Dr. Tiwari’s focus has been building a strong, cross-functional, collaborative team with exceptional leadership skills to enhance working relationships with hospital staff, while ensuring the highest standards of service quality for patients.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Tiwari join Valley Health Systems,” said Hatiras. “His experience and commitment to high quality patient care have already made him a valuable member of our leadership team.”
Dr. Tiwari lives in West Springfield with his wife and two children.
