Our team at Kidney Associates at Holyoke Medical Center includes:
Balaji Padmanaban Athreya, MD, FASN, FASH
Balaji Padmanaban Athreya, MD, FASN, FASH brings nearly 25 years of experience to those undergoing the diagnosis, treatment and management of kidney disease. Dr. Athreya is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds a subspecialty in nephrology. Affectionately known as “Dr. Pad” to his patients, he practiced at Renal & Transplant Associates of New England prior to Holyoke Medical Center, where he headed up the Hypertension Practice Center. He also serves as Medical Director, Acute Hemodialysis Program at Holyoke Dialysis. Dr. Athreya is a fellow of the American Society of Hypertension and the American Society of Nephrology.
Shaji Daniel, MD, FACP, FASN
Shaji Daniel, MD, FACP, FASN is a nephrologist with nearly 20 years of experience helping patients with kidney disease live healthier lives. He served as an attending physician in the Department of Nephrology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Springfield, and a consultant to Renal & Transplant Associates prior to establishing Kidney Associates at Holyoke Medical Center. Dr. Daniel is board certified by the American Board of Nephrology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology.
Avinash Adiga, MD
Avinash Adiga, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained nephrologist with over five years of experience working with nephrology and critical care patients. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, as well as the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Adiga maintains board certification in nephrology, critical care, and internal medicine.
