Ways to Support HMC
Gifts come in all shapes and sizes. Many ways of giving can enable you to meet your philanthropic goals while supporting the patient care needs of Holyoke Medical Center. We invite you to give in a way that best suits you and we would be happy to help you decide which option best meets your charitable interests.
Below you will find a few of the ways that you can make a difference:
Gifts of Cash
A quick and easy gift that goes to work right away in providing support for our most urgent needs.
Gifts may be made in the form of a check, credit card or cash. Please make checks payable to: Valley Health Systems, Inc.
Valley Health Systems, Inc.

You can help sustain and strengthen Holyoke Medical Center’s work by making a convenient monthly, quarterly or annual pledge. You choose the recurring amount you wish to give when you make your secure donation online. You can change the amount or cancel at any time.
A tribute gift is a meaningful way to show you care about a special person in your life, a special occasion, or simply express thanks. Some examples of Tribute Giving include:
- The birth of a child
- Recent hospital stay or get well soon message
- Special life event
When a gift is made in honor or in celebration of someone, a card is mailed to the individual or family being honored or to whomever you indicate should be notified of the gift (note: the gift amount will never be disclosed).
One way many people choose to honor the memory of a lost friend or family member is through a memorial gift.
When families choose to make Holyoke Medical Center a recipient of gifts in memory of a loved one, we will respond with a note of thanks and acknowledgment. Additionally, a designated family member will receive a list of donors with their contact information, so the family can acknowledge the gifts.
Giving in Lieu of Flowers
In lieu of flowers many families ask others to make donations to the hospital. Simply include the following language in the obituary:
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to Holyoke Medical Center, in memory of (honoree’s name). Contributions can be made at www.holyokehealth.com/Give-Now/Donate or mail checks, payable to Valley Health Systems, Inc., to Valley Health Systems, Development Department, 20 Hospital Drive, Holyoke MA 01040. Please include honoree’s name in the memo line.
If you would like to receive a list of donors and contact information, please contact the Development Department: (413) 534-2579 or email@example.com.
A corporate matching gift is a great way to leverage your donation. A matching gift means that your personal donation is matched by your employer to double the total benefit of your contribution. It is your employer’s way of helping you to support those organizations and causes that you feel are important.
Please contact your employer’s Human Resources Office to inquire about their matching gift policy and to obtain the necessary form to multiply your gift dollars.
By including Holyoke Medical Center in your estate planning, you will be leaving a legacy of caring for many years to come. A planned gift to Holyoke Medical Center may also be a wise way to reduce or even eliminate estate, capital gains, gift and income taxes you donate for giving purposes. You can make a planned gift to Holyoke Medical Center in various ways. Please contact our office to see what plan may be right for you.
