The Holyoke Medical Center’s Weight Management Program, under the medical direction of Dr. Yannis Raftopoulos, has been accredited as a Comprehensive Center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The MBSAQIP Standards ensure that bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure, which improves patient outcomes and long-term success. The accredited center offers preoperative and postoperative care designed specifically for their severely obese patients.

Former Bariatric Patients
If you have had bariatric surgery from another surgeon and you have either relocated, or your bariatric surgeon is no longer available, our Bariatric Center offers a comprehensive care plan which includes regular follow-up with a bariatric surgeon and our dedicated bariatric team.
Prior to your appointment please authorize the release of all your bariatric care records to our office.
We also offer monthly support group meetings to all post-operative patients.
